Our Bukit Jalil National Stadium Has Been Nominated For The World Architecture Festival 2017
In conjunction with the upcoming SEA Games in August as well as our vision of making Bukit Jalil into KL Sports City by 2021, some upgrades have been carried out on the Bukit Jalil National Stadium which are now already in its first stage completion.

The upgrades have apparently qualified the stadium to be nominated for an award at the 2017 World Architecture Festival in the New and Old Completed Building category.

The award ceremony will take place this November in Berlin, Germany.

So proud to be a Malaysian!
Our national stadium was built in 1995 and served as a landmark when we played host for the 1998 Commonwealth Games.

It is now used for various events ranging from sports to entertainment.

The stadium is said to be able to accommodate up to 87,411 people but it has seen a six-figure turn out in the past during high profile events. And did you know that our stadium is also the biggest one in Southeast Asia?

The Bukit Jalil National Stadium will compete against other buildings in the same category from Malta, Belgium, Canada, Turkey, Vietnam, New Zealand, Germany, United Kingdom, South Africa, France, China, Australia, and Sweden.

We might be facing with some heavy contenders, but hey at least we know we have a shot at winning.

Who knows, with the winning streak we’ve been having for the past four months with our athletes – Azizulhasni Awang, Ziyad Zolkefli, Abdul Latif Romly, and Cheong Jun Hoong, we might add this award to our list of accomplishments in the event if we win it.

Malaysia boleh!
